I have around 5000pounds ov debt im24 and full time job but what I pay out drives me crazy and feel bankcruptcy mite be the option for me. But would my debt be completly cleared an not have to worry about paying anymore? And sinse all I own is a tv a sterii and a computer would I loose them.

Hi and welcome.

All unsecured debt (other than student loans, court fines and CSA arrears) is covered by bankruptcy and will be will be written off. You may find that you have to pay towards it for three years but it depends on your disposable income.

You will have to pay fees of £700 to declare bankruptcy.

Is your debt £5000? I think you may find there are other options other than bankruptcy.

A Debt Management plan might be an idea as well.

As Viki says - have a chat with an expert for some free advice.
