Is it true that if i inherit the family home & money during my year of bankruptcy it must be declared to the OR? & if the above were left to me 1 day after discharge then the OR can't touch it?

It depends. If the inheritance was already going through, eg, god forbid your family member died before or during your bankruptcy, then it doesn't matter when the inheritance actually comes to you, it will have to go to the OR.

If the family member dies the day after discharge, then the inheritance will come to you.

As Viki says - if you knew about it before discharge then you have to declare it.

The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity. – Ulysses S. Grant

It doesn't matter when you knew about it, the important date is when you become entitled to the inheritance, i.e. the date the person died. As Viki says, if the person dies before you are discharged from BR then you would have to declare the inheritance even if you don't become aware of it until after discharge.

The more I have to do with humans the more I think that the world would be a better place if it was run by animals.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side.
