Hi,

I am currently in an IVA and although it was the right solution at the time it may now be wrong for me.

I was trying to do the right thing and repay the debts (approx 19800)but at the time I only had myself to worry about living in a room with no bills etc

Now I want to move into a flat with my Partner, this would probably only leave me with about 100 at a stretch to pay my iva when it was agreed as 215 now and i worry that it will fail and force me into bankruptcy anyway not to mention if we have kids - i have 4 years to go and unlikely to get a pay rise in my job as I have to get promoted and there are no opportunities due to cut backs as I'm already at the top of my pay band and i don't earn much I only bring home 1183 a month and my partner earns less than me and only fair we share the costs of house and bills.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

How long have you been in your IVA and who is your IP?

You need to speak to your IP to see if you can find a way forward.

The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity. – Ulysses S. Grant

Hi Rebecca,

As Niobe has said you need to speak to your IP. They will go through a fresh income and expenditure with you and see if you can carry on with the IVA.
