Hi all, 7 months today will be the end of my 6 years since going bankrupt so i feel like i'm on the home run now. My credit file still shows most of my debts as still defaulting and ccj still active. Will everything just disapeer in 7 months or will it still take a while? Thanks Anna

Hi,

They should fall off a the end of the six years but you do need to keep an eye on things.

If things don't alter then you need to contact creditors and get them to remove defaults back to the start of the bankruptcy.

It should drop off automatically but this isn't always the case and sometimes you have to contact the creditors to backdate the defaults to the date of BKY to get it sorted.

thank you both for your replies. I have been on my credit file today first time in 2 months and to my surprise one of the debts seems to have disapeered and my score has shot up by 290 to 570 so im so happy about that. I noticed my ccj was recorded on 4th april 2011 so should that disapeer in april or would it be 9th august at the end of the 6 years since bankruptcy?

As far as I am aware it should drop off in April.

Just check in April to see if it has disappeared.
