Hi all could anyone help with this interesting one..

My Dad petitioned for his own bankruptcy in April07.He is now, over a year later, discharged from his Bankruptcy. At the time he had a joint Bank Account with my mum with LloydsTsb which was opened in 1990.He included this account in his BR so the account on his side is 'wiped out'.

Last week my Mum received a letter from Apex Credit Management saying that they had "received instructions from there client to initiate formal debt collection proceedings for the unpaid debt".

The bank account when included in the BR was at £1,200 overdrawn, the letter received today says the ammount owing is now at £2,400 od.The account hasn't been touched since the bankruptcy in April07!

Is my mum be responsable for all off this debt?

Many thanks
Paul

If the account was joint and several then I am afraid that she will be.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com
