You need to inform the OR when discussing situation, they will be able to check any accounts saving etc., that your son may have so if there is anything else he hasn't disclosed he must inform them immediately. it is an offence not to inform them of any assessts.
Ignorance is not acceptable in the eyes of the law.
However, I am sure if your so informs them in his interview explaining that it was a 28 day saver account they will probably ask for the cheque when it arrives.
DON'T HIDE ANYTHING
