Me and OH are having interviews for BR next week, after the phonecall where the OR said he was concerned about OH gambling (expected) I hunted around for more information to take to interviews. My debt is at about £42K and OH £17K. I had estimated that OH had lost £25K to gambling and I withdrew cash from cards to replenish our joint income expenditure account (hence part of my debt down to OH gambling) After going through the information that i have found, i have got to a figure of more like £35K gambling losses. will the OR let him explain this at interview or will he think that we were hiding something. (PS. he's stopped gambling completely for over 6 months)

Hi
I would say that your increased borrowings to replenish your expenditure account are, technically, seperate from the gambling. All you were doing was trying to pay the bills because OH was diverting his funds elsewhere, even if you knew where, he had a problem which he has now faced up to and is dealing with.

What about the fact that we put on the forms 25K gambling when it is looking closer to £35K, will they think that this was deliberate? i have just had figures figures figures going around in my head for many months! I am trying to get as much info as possible to show more accurate figures. (don't know if it makes any difference but total joint debt approx £60K)

I don't know what method you have to hand to do the calculation but unless the £35K can be directly evidenced from gambling account statements and or direct payments to casino's or bookmakers from a caard. Then only you would be able to make such a conclusion and the OR would need to take your word for it.
