Hi

My partner and i both went BR on 24th June this year , at the time i was and still am unemployed, My partner was employed full time and paid all the expenses etc. He doesnt have to pay and IPA as there is not enough surplus however he will be going on a NIL tax code and we will be paying the said amount to an agent as requested to do so via are OR.

Now comes the bit i need advice on, if i want to start a full time job will i need to informmy OR , How will this affect our financial side? Will in mean we have to pay into an IPA?

Going to work will be a huge struggle and will mean we have to put our little boy in nursery however we dontwant to EVER get the mess we were beforehand so 2 jobs would possibly ease the strain of modern day living a little.

Any advice / opinions appreciated!

Tanya

Hi Tanya,

Yes you would have to inform the OR. Obviously if your money takes into account things like child minders then this would be added on.
If you had not been given an IPA and it was a year later then you would be clear of having to inform them but as your only 2 months inyour are still obligated to keep them informed of any changes and as such you may end up in an IPA now. Obviously that depends on income etc and down to the OR.
You would need the OR to issue you another I&E form so that they can reasses your situation.
Hope this helps.
