Can I sell items on ebay to raise the bankruptcy fee or would they frown on this? I am talking things that are worth about £20 or £30 - old baby items no longer needed etc |

Hi Ashamed,
Im not sure, i cant see it being a problem their was another member on here doing it, cant remember who.
Someone is bound to update my reply if im wrong, but i would say it would be fine as long as they are cheap items.
Thanks
Jo

Yes it was me! Absolutely fine as the OR is not interested in items of that value. They would frown on you using credit to raise the fee, so this is a good way to raise it.

Hi Andrew,
You don't have to be a BR expert to contribute! Many thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info Andrew. I've sold some old clothes recently and I really begrudge the fees - by the time you've paid the listing fees, the final sale fees and the Paypal fees that's quite a big chunk gone!

Ive not sold anything on there for months, so any gossip would be good

What about selling items on e-bay after you are declared BR, are there any stipulations? |

Hi Sueann,
I dont know on that one, maybe one of the other experts or other members may know. I too would like to know if we are limited. I would have thought it would be ok as long as your not selling grannies "Cartier" watch. LOL :)

Hi Sueann,
Once you have been declared BR, all your assets are technically the property of the OR. How much are we talking about here? If it's a reasonable amount, I would suggest you suspend your trading on ebay until your discharge.
