Hiya,
I just had a back payment of Housing Benefit of £1008 and this has swelled my bank account to just over £2100. I had planned to pay next months rent (due 19th) of £866 anyway, plus I need £345 for the fee and I should clear off my recent spending on my one clean CC (about £100). The question is, can I take the rest out in cash for a rainy day? If not could I pay an extra months rent with it, as knowing the council, it will take a while until I start receiving HB into my new account after I go bankrupt. I owe about £30k personally.
Also, I have a ltd company which hasn't traded since april 2007. It has 2 full years accounts outstanding and I estimate, about £6k would be owing in corporation tax because of dividends I took back then, plus maybe £4k in leased computer equipment the company defaulted on. How will this be handled? Will it just be put into liquidation or will I have to find the money to put it into liquidation? I'm also unsure if I have to fill out section 2 (business details) of the petition as this talks about self-employment, where as I was an employee of my own company which is not exactly the same thing.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Mariaofkensington,
I would suggest that as there is a corporate entity attached to your situation that you have a chat with one of my colleagues on the helpline who should be able to point you in the right direction.
