i am currently being investigated for benefit fraud i have ben interviewed etc, and still say i did not do it, all i did was let someone use my address for thier mail, nothing else, well dwp say they have now passed all info onto solicitors to see if they can make a conviction. i suffer with bipolar and my health is steadily going downhill, this has now been going on for nearly two years, what could take them so long to decide? i am praying they dont deal with it as fraud, if not can i go bankrupt and finally put all this behind me? just dont know where to turn!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Jacqui,
Try giving the helpline a call. Its free and someone will get back to you.
The number is:
0800 078 9367
I think with your circumstances it best to talk to someone.
Give that a go.

Hi Jacqui37,
BR will certainly erase this debt (as long as a criminal prosecution and fine don't result). Stick to your guns and you should (hopefully) be able to avoid this.
