Hi hope someone can help! Got a couple of questions about the forms. First question is about a previous house sale. It asks on the form if I got any money from the sale of my house earlier on in the year. The problem is I got a few thousand but the cheque was made out to my mum as she lent me the deposit for the house. Do I put down I got money from the sale or not? Why do they need to know this?

Second question my car - parkers say it is worth £3000 but it is in a poor way and is nowhere near this amount. How or where do I put te condition it is in?

Thanks for any help

Hi there i will try to help you.

Right the sale of the house was when, as this would have to be listed and the amount it sold for also noted i beleive.
Any monies you had from the house sale would need to be accounted for and that means that your Mum may have to be added in.

It could and i say could as im not 100% sure be classed as preferential treatment when you paid your mum the monies, but im not sure if im right or not but that is what i have been led to beleive.
I dont know why they need to know, maybe someone else can answer that.

You list the car in the section, do you have a motor vehicle or use of a vehicle, when you write it in it give you enough space to write down the condition and also how much the vehicle is worth, i think its sections 3.7.

Thanks

The house was sold in March this year?

Hi sazkat

I am not too sure on that one. Looking at whati have leant then the OR may look at trying to get it back, but as long as you say that the money was a deposit that will help, but that also means that you made a preferntial payment to a creditor and that will be frowned upon.
They may like i say try and get it back if they cant get it then it could mean and i am only saying could mean a BRU for you.
I dont know if i have helped you at all but this is how i see it.
Good luck

Hi Sazkat2,

If the OR is aware of it, then it could be deemed as a preferrential payment. However, the liklihood of succesfully getting the money back of your mum is slim. I would suggest getting a written agreement drawn up to show the OR which details the loan paid by your mum which is due on the sale of the property. Keep it up your sleeve for an emergency. however, if you "kept" the proceeds and spent it on general living expenses, there is not a lot the OR can do.

With respect to the car, look on autotrader for same make, model, mileage, condition etc ... the cheapest one you can find is what yours is worth.
