Hi there
I phoned the local court on 1st Sept to book an appointment, been this morning and was in court for 1hour 40 mins. With th ejudge for less than 5 mins.
Hope this helps.
Got an appointment with the OR on Monday morning. So whole process less than 2 weeks for us but others have to wait longer for the OR interview.

Hi

It really depends on the work load at the court and the OR's office, and this varies depending on your area. It can take anything between 2 weeks to 2 months

Hi Sam,

BR is just an abbreviation for 'bankrupt' or 'bankruptcy'. The OR is the Official Receiver who will deal with your affairs during your period of bankruptcy. Is is his/her job to look back over your finances before you went BR and, among other things, to determine if you have enough money each month after all essential expenditure to repay your creditors an amount each month for up to 36 months.

I went BR on Weds and know how complicated it can all seem at first! Have a good read over some old posts on the forum as they should give you some good info.

I'm sure you'll have lots more questions though, so keep posting them and we'll be here for you!

Take care,

C. x
