Dear Forum

As I understand it, Student Loans are exempt from BR? Fair enough.

Do they still get put down on the BR forms or ommitted altogether?

I am currently in a DMP and they get put down on that.

Thanks in advance!

Hmmm I'm really not sure, Dazed. On the one hand, they are a creditor, but then for the purposes of BR they're not. Not sure what should happen there. Hopefully someone will be able to help you soon.

Sorry I can't help! :-)

Hi
student loan repayments should be entered as an expenditure (if you are currently making any payments that is) but not required to be listed as an unsecured debt.

Hi!

I am not currently earning enough to have to pay them, but my DMP provider have decided that I should pay them so I currently am paying them a percentage of my DI.

So, when I go BR should I omit them altogether or put down how much I am paying them in the DMP?

Sorry for any confusion and thanks in advance!

I put my Student Loan down on the unsecured section, even though I'm not currently paying them back. The OR said I was correct to enter the details, but as you said, it won't be written off in BR.

Hello,

I was wrongly advised by the Financial Adviser that I had, that my Student Loans would be INcluded in my Bankruptcy! I may have thought differently if they I knew they weren't. She was given very harsh words when i found out (and it was too late to turn back) that they weren't included!!!

Still, I did have other debts which have been sorted now, and I am 31 days away from being discharged!

Hi and thanks for your replies!

Ok, I will put them down in the unsecured section.

Cheers!
