i am going to lose my job as a mortgage consultant for an IFA when i go bankrupt as it is instant dismissal at the company i work for. I am trying to get a job lined up so i dont have a break from employment. It seems im overqualified for admin work, but i was wondering whether a bank would have issues with bankcruptcy? Has anyone been working for a bank when they went bankcrupt? Thanks!
I used to work for a bank 8 years ago. I was not bankrupt at the time as that is yet to come. I do know back then that one of the questions on the application forms was have you ever been bankrupt.
Hi sorry i worked for a bank about 12 years ago and i cant remember what the terms and conditions of employment were.
You could always ring anonymously and ask around. :-)

Just a thought you say you are over qualified for Admin work - can you not tell prospective employers you are looking for a change in direction? With the housing and Mortgage market the way it is. I worked in recruitment for 2 years and that is plausable. If you put this information on a covering letter when applying for a job it might swing it for interview.
thanks for your answers. out of curiousity Nicola J which bank do you work for? I have just been applying for some now, and they all ask about bankcruptcy. Im not BR yet but think i will be in 3 months. Fills me with a little hope that NicolaJ's employers were supportive. Thanks
