Hi I've very nearly completed the forms but just got a little stuck with Section 4, when listing the creditors and listing credit cards, It asks for the date incurred? being a credit card and that the debt as built up over time, what date do you give? It also ask what the debt was for? is credit card debt an acceptable answer?

many thanks D

Also in part 7.1 expenses, is it the box at the bottom where you list other expenses?

thanks again D

I put down the approx. date I took out the credit card. Be as accurate as you can but remember the main thing is to list as much detail as you can. You are likely get a telephone interview in a few days or weeks so if there is anything you forget you can add it in later. In fact, you can write to the OR at any point during your BR with relevant information pertaining to it. You may well find that the court is quite friendly and the OR office will be too. Nevertheless, BR is a serious step.

Hi Rombonie

Have you spoken to anyone about your pending BR as our helpline are there should you need them, the reason i ask is like Pix has said its a serious step to take and you need to be aware of any other options that may help you.
The number is free and its 0800 078 9367

Best of luck to you

Thanks for the info. I am not taking it lightly as i'm sure you can well imagine, I have spent alot of time trying to avoid this but I seems to be the route now. Spoke to several different people about this and they all concur. Just trying to make sure that all is correctly completed and that i make the best of a bad situation

Any idea what kind of paperwork they will need to see? i.e. how far back? etc

thanks in advance
D

Hi D

The OR tends to ask for about the last 12 months and if you can and still have any your loan agreements and also any utility bills to clarify what you put on your I&E, if you dont have some of it dont worry the OR can get it themselves.

Best of luck to you

they won't need any paperwork on the day of the petition but they will need you to send it in according to instructions they give you when you have your BR order.

Hi i would just wait and see what the OR asks for when they call or write to you and like pix has said you dont need to take anything with you to the court just you the form and the fee.

Best of luck

Great will have a look later now, got to get the kids.

I was unsure whether I should be telling my creditors that I am doing this? or at what stage at least should I be telling them?

cheers D

Hi D

Its up to you if you want to tell them i did not some did.

Its personal choice and as your only 3 weeks away i doubt if it will hurt even if you did.

Best of luck to you and yours :-)
