have opened a cash account with natwest for d/d and wages to go in, with no overdraft. will the OR freeze this? or can we continue to use this.
also, how long is it before acts get frozen following court date?

Hi Siobhan,

We didn't open account until we had been BR but as long as you declared to the Natwest that you were going BR the bank and the OR should let you keep it without freezing it at all.

To add
Bank accounts get frozen as soon as banks find out your BR which can be a couple of days to a couple of months.
At the end of the day its down to the bank whether they let you keep it open or not.

my pension and benefits are paid into bank at end of month and i cannot pay rent or eat if it is frozen
felt suicidal last week as mental helath prob is getting worse
i found this site and heartened by some of the stories - mine is also one of misfortune following a breakdown 4 yrs ago
i tried to keep paying everyone and thought i would get better and be working by now but feel washed up
feeling quite ill
do i approach bank now and let them know or wait until i have put the forms in to court?

Hi Useless(please change name as no one is!)

Please dont panic and welcome to this site.
I would suggest that you phone the free helpline today. they are brilliant and will call you back. The phone call and advice is free. You can share your details with them and they will know the best advice. Its very hard for anyone to give advice without knowing the background to you.

Please please phone the helpline

We are always here for you.
