Is this a uk site? New to this forum. As i just found it. Few problems i hope someone can help, even for peace of mind.
I went bankrupt in March this year, due to building up a debt in gambling.
I had a face to face interview where i had to go over everything, which i did tell the truth on how i become n had to go bankrupt etc, before that i went to CAB for advise, my advisor said they may place restrictions on me, as i racked up my debt and no means 2 pay back etc.
I did the interview in June and till today i had no letters or anything, except one to say, if they house i lived in i owned, which it wasnt, it was my parents and they had the deeds to the house.
Now i get this letter through, saying i have another interview next thursday. RE: Your affairs.
The person is on holiday till the 13th so i no idea what can be bout, but i thinking restrictions.
Anyone else gone through any of this, thing is, i went bankrupt because of debt with gambling, i re opened a bog standard bank account in september, and some money went to online bookmakers (still a bit of a gambler when i see red). Last time i saw the official reciever he said, there mayb another interview if any inconsistancys with my story, but that was in June.
Far as i know i told the truth, so i dont think it was that, im just worried as anyone would be, as out of bloom i get this letter.
Hope for any advice at all and anyone else gone through this, and mayb restrictions. Also anyone gone bankrupt with a gambling debt, be nice to hear as i dont know any.
My email addy is [[/email], nt sure if can sho this, apologies if not, just quite worried.

Dont panic Andy, it may well be about your gambling but you are being positive and taking steps to deal it.

This is not too unusual. It may be that they are looking at your old credit card statements, there may be a particular period where there was a abnormal amount of activity?
Or it may be that they want to tie in the debts closer to your statement at the end of the 6-28?
If you are self employed, the may look a little deeper?
I would also suggest that if you have any medical evidence, relating to that period, you could also present that.
Not knowing is the worst thing, but like I say this is not unusual. |
