Absolutely not. BR only stays on your credit file for 6 years.

So after the 6 years i could apply for a "normal" mortgage - which would not be one of the very high interest rate ones?

3 years after discharge, you should be able to go for a mainstream mortgage at a sensible rate.

Hey thats good news Julian, at least as BR's there is light at the end of the tunnel and you wont always be penialised for taking the BR route.

3 Years is not that long.
