OR office phoned me today after going bankrupt on 20th October.
Just gave me a date for my interview and also said they would let my bank know, and it would be up to them whether they let me keep it or not. I opened a basic bank account with the co op for essential direct debits etc before going going bankrupt, hope they let me keep it, finger crossed.

Hi Debtrider

When is it you have your interview, is it soon?

Like the OR would have said to you its down to the bank to whether they will let you keep it but the Coop are usually ok as they are BR friendly as many of us including myself went over to them.

Let us know when your date is and good luck :-)

Take Care

My interview is on 4th November and wondering what questions will be asked. I am a full time professional entertainer and always get a little nervous before every show, but this interview I am dreading.

Hi Debtrider

Basically they ask about what you wrote on your statement of affairs.

Like when did you start to get into difficulties, they will double check what you spent your money on, they will ask about dependents and money coming in and going out.

Its all in your SoA but they need to clarify it for their own reference but they will also make notes as they speak with you, thats because they have to make a report to send to the creditors.

Make sure that when you have your interview that you are somewhere quiet, have a glass of water and the SoA to hand.

Obviously thats if its a phone interview. You may also be told if you have to pay into an IPA or whether a BRU may be warranted but again this will all be discussed at time of interview.

One tip write down any questions you have and keep it with you along with a piece of paper and a pen so that you too can make notes.

LOL

So Debtrider, you have a face to face. If im honest with you i would have prefered a face to face as i can see what they are doing and you can put your points across so much easier.

I know which ever way you have that interview it will be nerve racking "been there, done that" but once that bit is done then its onwards and upwards and as long as you answer to the best of your knowledge and dont sign things your unsure of you will be fine :-)

May i wish you well for that and i will be thinking about you on that day.

Enjoy the weekend and have fun.

Jo

Hi
I had a face gto face interview and was warned it could take 3-4 hours!! It didn't 1hr 10 mins .It was really just going through SOA and putting it into your own words as you go through the interview they write down what yoy have told them. He wasn't judgemental and anything i didn't understand just ask he would expain. Don't worry if you can't remember everything i couldn't.
Good luck and i wish you well

Debtrider

Be as open and as honest as you can be. We dont remember everything and if we did we would not have to go BR as we would be millionaires.

Try to relax and listen and make sure that you answer to the best of your ability and knowledge, if you dont know the answer to something then just say.

Your not on trial, merely helping them establish the facts for there letters they send to the creditors.

Best of luck
