hi just been reading about others' SOAs-for the Assets section-i included an engagement ring worth approx £2000-are they likely to take this off me? also my husband included camera equipment as tools of the trade-is he likely to have to give them up as they are needed for his job? sorry having a panic before by OR tel interview next week! THANKS
I doubt if they would want an engagement ring but just tell the OR/Examiner at the time of interview that its obviously sentimental value and hopefully they wont even worry about it. Must of us did not put those things down as they are sentimental but if asked just explain.
With regards to hubbys stuff again as long as he can i required prove he needs these for work then i doubt if the OR/examiner will worry.
They need to get a lot back when selling stuff on and seeing as your OH need those things to be able to work i think you will be fine and they will become exempt.

certainly the tools of your OH's trade should be safe but I can't be as sure regarding the ring I'm afraid. It may well be the case that engagement and wedding rings are exempt whatever the value but I'm not sure it's the case.
ok, well will let u know what is said. i should have left it off (engagement ring) i suppose but thought i'd rather be as open as i could be and they might be nicer to me!! how daft eh!! S x
