i informed barclays by phone that i was bankrupt nearly 2 months ago, they were ok but stated i couldnt have an overdraft which is fair enough, they have just froze and closed my account with around a grand of my wages in it, the lady in branch said they would be sending a cheque out to me although this doesnt help as i have only a tenner in my pocket, she said i could open a basic account but no visa debit, as i buy lots of books from amazon this will prevent me from paying for them, are we not allowed visa debit cards?
all help is appreciated.

Hi Andrew,

Facilities such as debit cards are at the bank's discretion.

Hi Jo,

Perhaps we should approach the Co-Op for a referral fee given the amount of business we've put their way :)

Hi All
I applied for the Coop Cash minder yesterday, I informed them I will be going BR in January, He assured me that it was not a problem,
Should know on Friday if everything has gone through on the checks.
I have been told I will get a Visa /Electron card, so no prob's for the internet, and can be used abroad.

I told them they came highly recomended from this site, and they seem aware of this.

I use my Visa Electron card everywhere and never been turned down - its a great feeling knowing its now all my money paying for things
