Had a txt from mbna to call them which i did - they said that they were aware of my going br but reminded me of my increasing debt.
I said I was not over my card limit when i first wrote about my problems and the debt has increased by £3,500 due to payments and interested added on. I felt exasperated and I was honest when i said, that at some point, the choice i felt i had was suicide or br - they obviously have no experience of people with mental health problems as she said she would call me back if i wanted a more 'adult' conversation.
I said no and that i felt she was being condescending - i felt very upset afterwards. should i call them back to explain? I know they wont stop writing or calling until i can get the forms into court but finding it very stressful.
i just dont want them to think i am being childish when i was very honest about my feelings - i wasnt threatening suicide, only trying to let them know how i felt before getting the forms for br and how seriously i am taking this - at one point though i think i said i didnt care anymore as i felt so pressured, but they only want their money i understand this - i only hope the letter i am waiting for comes then i can go to court - sorry if ive rambled on a bit
thinking of going to drs as i feel so ill but dont want any more meds and so grateful i have this site - feel a bit better already for getting it off my chest |

Hi Usefull
These people have a job to do and thats get their money back. Dont take it personally they have bonuses etc that are aimed at calling us and making us almost beg for forgiveness.
I would not worry about calling them back and if you do make up a new mobile number so they cant text you on your other one. At least that way they wont pester you with texts.
Anyhow you try not to worry about them like i have said these are all set to targets.
When is it your going BR is it soon as i read so many posts and i forget. (Old age)
LOL

These people can be so unreasonable. Please don't put yourself through this any more by speaking to them again. You don't need to explain anything to them at all. You have told them you will be going BR. If they call again, either ignore their call (this would be my personal favourite), or if you want to answer, then just tell them it should be on their notes that you are due to go BR soon and that you have nothing more to say on the matter.
These people have a right to ask for the money until you are BR, but they DO NOT have the right to be rude or condescending.
Please keep posting and ignore these people. As soon as you go BR they will not be allowed to contact you again.
When do you plan to go BR, by the way?
Take care hon =]

Hi Useful
Again i wnat to say to you that your not alone. I hope that things get sorted out and the sooner the better.:-)
We dont like to see people upset but on here we are all one big family. We have all been where you are now and we know that its the most scary thing to have to go through.
Once you have been to court it will start to calm down, life does not change straight away as it gradually starts to sink in that your no longer responsible for those debts but at the same time we all get that feeling of maybe being out of control of things.
I for one know that upto and including the BR i was so very scared, but as soon as we had the date i became a stronger person, finding these guys helped me the most, just being able to post a note and get a reply from people who have been there was the best then now for me 3 months down i know that i made the right choice.
I dont have any letters from any of my old creditors now, nothing have not had for about 7 weeks its great, the postmans bag must a lot lighter now too. :-)
Anyhow, please take care and like BC has said they have everyright to ask for the monies and will continue to do so until you have been to court and got your court number.
Keep smiling mate and keep on posting ;-)

Hi Useful,
Thats really good news about the fees. Well done for getting that appointment for next week. it will soon be over now. I went br on 9th Oct and got a phone call from LLoyds today, i did let them have an earful because i have already told them i'm BR but they dont seem to take any notice. I do finf that it goes right over my head now, but before i was BR i went to pieces every time the phone rang. Please dont worry anymore about MBNA or any other creditor, they cant do anything to you and next week you'll be a free person. Take Care
