If I went BR from NZ. How would it affect me here with my job/bank account/paying bills etc. would there be any direct effect with how I go about my everyday life here, would I end up paying an IPA here ?

thanks mick.

Hi

In terms of affecting you locally there are a couple of ways this could happen.

1. If you have a hyper sensitive job (probably not as a foreign national

2. based on disposable income you may be asked to pay an IPA for 3 years. This would vary from betwen 50 - 70 % of disposable after all appropriate costs are accounted for.

You would also have to have been residing in the UK any time up to 3 years ago.

You can :-

either fly back and present the appropriate forms by yourself in the High Court in London

OR

you can appoint a company to assist you through the process and by signing a Lasting Power of Attorney you would be able to hand legal authority over to them to deal with this specific situation.

Morning Jonesey

1. there is a process that you need to follow when in the armed forces ( as do serving police officers ) as you do not want to fall foul of the rules & regs.

2. where you petition would depend upon where you are currently serving. UK, EU or elsewhere.

3. An income payment agreement would only come into place IF you have disposable income AFTER all fully legitimate monthly expenses are taken account of.

An IPA would last for 3 years ( provided that you continue to have disposable income during this time) and would be between 50 - 70% of your disposable income.

Depending upon your monthly disposable, the level of debt, your asset base etc then there may be other options.

Either way you should seriously consider having a telephone call with a professional to ensure you have fully considered all the options. This will be a requirement when moving forward through the process within the armed forces.
