As the title says,I hope this isnt a silly question,Im still confused by all this banruptcy stuff.
I have decided that Ill be declaring bankruptcy once the house has been repossesed, shouldnt be too long know, my mortgage provider have passed the case onto their solicitors.
Anyway, this isnt a usually question about bank accounts, court etc,I think I just about get all of that now. My question is if I declare bankruptcy am I able to move out of the country (by out of the country I only mean to Scotland) during the first year?
I have been offered a room in a friends house up there, and after the year I have had I think a fresh start in a whole new place is just what I need.

Thanks in advance for your replies :)

Hi

there are no restrictions regarding where you live etc so you don't need to send the OR your passport.

However just make sure you go br in England BEFORE going to Scotland because the laws are different and I am sure it is still 3 years ( called a different name in Scotland - Sequestration ).

Thanks for you quick reply,I though it would be ok,but also though I had better double check, I was planning on declaring bankruptcy in England,so that I could move up there with no debts hanging over me.
Would I still have the OR from England or would I be assigned a new one up in Scotland do you know?
