Hi Useful,

All the best for today. I know in your case that its not the end of your troubles but from today at least you will have one less thing to worry about.

Good luck my friend

Awwww thanks everyone who wrote and wished me well. I didnt expect to see messages just for me and was quite touched. I was too nervous to log on this am. - kept worrying i was going to be late etc.
The process wasnt what I thought at all, I was too early and the person dealing with these things was a bit behind, but the receptionist must have read my face and let me know this.

Finally a gentleman appeared with some copies of my bankruptcy letter (to send to creditors), we went through some corridors of files to a small office, and there I spoke to the examiner via the phone, who asked a few questions in a pleasant manner.

I will be getting some more forms to fill in and another meeting maybe, especially as my only asset sits in spain (unsellable), however, I now think that my fears were over-exaggerated - (I imagined a wooden hammer banging on a desk with a judge asking questions loudly.)

I felt a bit flat leaving the building, now a bankrupt, something Ive tried to avoid over the past few months, as I tried to negotiate with the creditors - the examiner will want all my correspondence with all my creditors - and I said it was a BIG heavy file built up since last March when I couldnt keep paying them anymore.

Anyhow thats all history now - it will feel strange not to have the BIG file - in a nice way - will have some more hurdles to jump i guess, but thanks to this website Ive kept sane about it all.
Thanks again everyone for your well wishes - I feel i have some new friends xxx
