i had a bank account with the halifax with money in it thay have closed the account and wont give me a savers account what can i do as my disablety money was paid into this account

Hi D51 and welcome!

DO you mean that your account has been frozen and your disability money is in that account? if that is the case then contact you OR and see if they can get it released for you. You will probably need to go to another bank to set up a new account. I don't know who you are already with but the co-op is very popular on here!! there are other banks you could try, just avoid the ones that you may have owed money to as they are more than likely to say no. You will probably only get a basic account until you are discharged from BR. Don't worry though it really isn't that bad.
Also if you benefit is due to still go in to you rfrozen account it won't actually go in now. Give them a cll and arrange it to be paid by another method until you get your bank account sorted.

Hi d51,I Know you can open a post office card account that allows benefits to be paid into it thats free
