Haven't been on here for a while but need a littl more advice, we went BR in April everything has gone to plan, NT code, IP payments argreed, this was about £250 less than IVA wanted which was brilliant. A bit scary over the house but they agreed we are in negative equity and all we had to pay was £211 and £1 each and thats it. I have been paying my IP payments for 3 months now but my Husband has not had any contact from the solicitor about his, we have been putting his tax away each month so it is there for them, is this normal that they take such a long time.
A little bit of encouragement for anyone thiinking about going BR, in the past 6 months it has felt like a weight off our shoulders and we wish we had done it ages ago. Just had the IP reduced again by 50% we now pay £175 each month the IVA wanted £575.

There is light at the end of the tunnel it just take a while to find it.

Good luck everyone and this site is fantastic for good honest advice.

Hi

you are doing absolutely the right thing by setting aside funds in the absence of any IPA details for your husband. And it's good to see that bankruptcy has worked for you and not just financially.

Don't get your hopes up but it is not entirely unheard of for the collection of IPA payments to fall under the radar. At worst you will hear something soonish. At best if your husband hears nothing by the anniversary of his bankruptcy date then it's too late for the OR and he gets to keep that money.

Fingers crossed a long and much deserved weekend away in the spring????
