if i wanted to leave my rent accomodation earlier then the tenancy agreement to save money, what would happen to the bond that i have in a secured tenancy aggreement and also would i owe the remaining months or include this in BR ?
Hi, I used to work in lettings so hopefully can help.
They will definitely ask you for the rent due for the remainder of your contract however I am certain this would be included in your BR. Your landlord should be fully insured anyway, but if you are vacating there is nothing they can do as worst case scenario would be to evict you... They cant chase you for money you dont have.
not sure if you would get your deposit back and even if you did, I was advised by CAB that if this happened whilst I was still bankrupt, the OR would claim the deposit, luckily we moved house after we were discharged so we got to keep it
You most definitely wouldn't get your deposit back. Its not meant to be used for outstanding rent but if you did vacate before the end of your term they would certainly keep it.
As you will be moving on anyway and not supplying a forwarding address, I would actualy be tempted to inform the letting agent of your circumstances. As its unusual, they may even come to an agreement with you whereby they keep your deposit but as long as you leave asap with no damage to the property they can find a new tenant and claim on the landlords insurance for outstanding rent.
Alternatively if you are going BR very soon then I would just vacate and let the OR correspond...
