Is there any way to have any type of student loans discharged in bankruptcy, or any way to reduce student loan debt in any way??

Hi Stephrn and Welcome

Student loans are NOT included in Bankruptcy so wont get written off.

Are you thinking about bankruptcy or have you already been declared BR.

Hello,

I was told that Student Loans were included in bankruptcy...it was only when i had gone bankrupt and then OR was calling me did they tell me it was not included!!! I had bad advice from a Financial Adviser.

However, student loans have the lowest interest on them, as they just go up with inflation. And they only take out so much each month according to your salary so if you arent earning enough they wont be able to take it out of your salary and never will.

Experts even say that it is better to save your money rather tahn pay off your student loan, as you will end up making more money with the interest you get in the savings than you will in paying off your loan at an increased rate!

Thanks
