Hello
Just checked this months wage slip and still on code 531L. Went BR 4 months ago, do you think they will ever apply it?
Informed OR of our change in circumstances (our seperation)nearly 2 weeks ago and not heard anything either!

What i can tell you from my wife's experience is that you are more than likely to end up noticing that your tax code has changed and there is more money in your wage packet BEFORE the OR writes to you about it and that you will need to call the OR yourself to hurry the process on. Then the OR will ascertain from your pay slips (which you need to send in to them if you haven't already) the ESTIMATED amount of what you have to pay then they will get you to sign up to a NIL TAX CODE IPA agreement, wait 21 days then get Moonbeever to administer it. Moonbeever will the write to you asking for your pay slips (which you don't have because you sent them to the OR!) to decide the EXACT amount of your NIL TAX CODE IPA. You will then need to contact the OR again and ask them to pass on the pay slips for Moonbeever to decide the exact amount of your payment and the whole thing will drag on so that you are expected to SAVE your tax refunds for several months BEFORE Moonbeever finally start collecting payments! The whole thing is a bit messy. |

Hi Pix
I did not have any trouble with Moonbeever. Our code changed end of Oct, they gave me the details over the phone of where to send the amount and they also within 7 days sorted out the new tax amount, as the OR had calculated £285 but the tax should have been a lot less.
They were very efficient and friendly. The OR on the other hand have not got back to me on anything.
Oh well at least i know what i should be sending each month and when.
I hope you get yours sorted out TD and soon.
LOL

My OR has asked me for nowt! I have everything should he need it, but as we are 'Type 0s' I just wondered if they would even bother. I clear about £900pm so pay about £200 in tax and NI. Would it be worth their while paying Moonbeaver for this, if its only going to be for 3 months now?
I know some say 'lucky thing' not having an interview or contact, but somethimes its hard as you have so many uncertainties!

Hi TD
I went BR in September and received a letter from tax office advising nil tax code. I have had two wage slips with nil tax but no communication as to what to do with the money as of yet.
I ring my wage department each month and ask them how much my tax would have been I have then put aside the money so i dont get caught out.
I have also advised OR of separation from OH and new finances (working tax credit, child tax credit and loss of OH contribution) but have not received any reply at all about this.
My interview with OR was horrendous as detailed in previous posts so i am not inclined to ring him but i have done as required by the agreement letter sent originally by OR office of notification within 21 days so i am just waiting for him now.

Its weird isnt it Debby? On the one hand all the debts are gone so you are stress free but on the other its like someone else is in charge of your life. I'm trying to pay council tax arrears at the moment, so selling like mad on ebay, but i'll probably get told off for that! I'm glad that my tax code hasnt changed (not had any letters of communication regarding this), as its just one more hassle for me.

I went BR in early august, still no NT, despite getting a letter from HMRC in October. |

Trolly-Dolly,
Someone else IS in charge of your life! Financially, that is. |

Hi Trolly Dolly
As they can take a while to set up, and cease at the end of March, I can't see that you would get an NT IPA now.
