My wife and I appear to be getting separated then divorced. Both bankrupt. I am discharged and she is still waiting. How effective is a financial disassociation in terms if the credit reference agency records? Even if you are spearated won't potential creditors, etc. still hold it against you that you were associated rpeviously? After all, the searches and financial associations recorded previously will stay on file. Any ideas?

Hi Pix1,

Financial dissasociation can be a very powerful tool in the case when only one of you has gone BR. As you both have, it will have a negligible impact on your credit rating. However, if you are separating prior to divorce, then I would recommend proceeding anyway as a matter of prudence.
