I owe £23,000 to credit card companies and £4,000 to others. I have been made redundant. I rent a room for £50/wk. My assets total a car that I purchased for £1500. I have asked the cc companies to reduce their interest rates... they refused. What are my options, please?

Hi Peetedd and welcome to the forum

as with every situation there are a number of solutions available. The final choice will depend upon your individual circumstances and the liklihood of returning to work in a given time.

Solutions :-

1. IVA
2. Bankruptcy
3. Debt Management
4. Lump Sum negotiated settlement
5. Consolidation Loan

Often the best way to work out what is right for you is to eliminate the choices that are not available leaving you with the likely solution
