Hi there,

We are preparing details for impending bankruptcy, and looking for some advice with regards to incorrectly charged VAT on invoices.

Some invoices included VAT at a time when they shouldnt have been charging it. In total the amount of VAT charged to clients in genuine error was approx £3k. This was for the first three invoices that went out at the start of the business.

It was a genuine error, we are quite concerned about this, does anybody know what are the consequences of this would be and how it would be handled by the OR.

Is this an illegal/criminal offence?

Many thanks

Hi Jennifer

This is one of those subjects that i dont really know much about so im going to have to say sorry that i cant help you.

I take it it was invoices that you charged customers for. Have they paid the invoices to you? Just wondering really. Dont go panicking you will get this sorted out.

LOL
