Good afternoon,
I have been getting mail to my former address over the last couple of months and I owe quite a lot of money out. It is over a period of the last 5 years and I am not in a postion to even offer a monthly payment as I havent worked since may 2007 after 8 months in prison for ABH and have been claiming JSA since may 2008.
I dont know how much i owe but think it may be about £15000 as a rough guide.
I really dont know what to do.....

Hi Gary & Welcome

You could get all your post and if you can get the fee apply to go bankrupt.

The fee could be reduced by the £150 by applying through the court if your on certain benefits.

If you cant find all the details for your debts you could apply to the 3 credit ref agencies and us that info to make sure that you include all your creditors on the statement of affairs, that is if you do decide to go bankrupt.

I would not ignore this though as they wont go away.

Best of luck

Jo

If the debts are less that 15k, you have no assets and no disposable income you may want to wait until April for the new Debt Relief Orders to see how this may benefit your situation.
