my husband is thinking of going bankrupt next month as he has debts of£58k we have a joint bank account with natwest and i was wondering what would happen to it. will it have to be closed or can i keep it

any advice would be appreciated

Hi

you could remove your husband's name from the account pre bankruptcy and you can continue using it.

If not it will be frozen by natwest until the OR advises them that he has no interest in the account.
At this point Natwest will either close the account or allow you to continue to use it.

Forewarned is forearmed as they say so I would try and have your husbands name removed pre bankruptcy and save the uncertainty.
