Hi

Has anyone heard of this account, its a saving money manager account, it allows direct debits and standing orders and is run online and over the phone, I spoke to them on the phone and they said that they are sure it is bankruptcy friendly however it may get frozen.

Has anyone used this account when going bankrupt,

Need to get away from Think

Thanks

Stu J Byron

Hi Stu

I tried the link you sent me but it wont open at the moment. It is the banks that freeze the accounts so it may be worth again asking them if they would keep it open once they knew you had gone BR.

I will also try and find out about this account later today, i have to go out l8r for a bit but once i know anything i will post on here.

If you hear anything then do let us know and best of luck with it.

I suppose you could try the yorkshire building soc they do an account with dd's & so's have a look at their site.

LOL

Yep thats the one,

Do you think Ill be safe to use it, the woman on the phone didnt really understand bankruptcy. As she said that I would need to contact them and discuss repayment??

Hope its ok to use.

Ive got an appointment with LloydsTSB next week to see if they can offer me an account, and I still havent got my money back from Think from the three duplicate transactions.

Jo I rung YBS and asked them about that account they said I could only have a passbook account not card and no DDIs and SOIs as i am not privalidged to use them as an undischarged Bankrupt

Well I rung them, and yes they accept bankrupts however the account will be frozen until discharged and will only allow direct debits that are essential as agreed by the OR

Stu

I dont know about you but that does not make sense. There has to be someone out there that will take you for an account.

Keep looking and hopefully something will come up. You could always contact your Local MP like i did at the Houses of Commons and mention that no one will give you an account and that the banks are supposed to offer you a basic account. I wrote to my mp about my OHs CSA Payments and they helped us.

Take care

Hi Jo

Just spoke to Barclays they said they would offer me an account but with a cash card not visa debit as im going bankrupt, one advisor said post an application form back the other said make an appointment so ive done both, hope I get my pasport back.

They also said that they do not share info with Barlcaycard so even if I had debts with Barclaycard it doesnt matter.
She said as Im going bankrupt I cant have internet bank either.

But it will be better than Think, which Im still trying to get my money back so sent my application back today via Special Delivery got an appointment with Barclays on Monday and ill say I was told two conflicting advice, one apply by post only the other apply in branch only, hope they accept me.
