Morning all

Well after a very impatient wait, the OR has wrote and offered for my huby to buy the BI in the house.

Obviously its the standard letter asking us to get an up to date valuation (which we dont have..aarrghhh) and also up to date mortgage amounts (again aarrgghhhhhh). Do i need to contact mortgage company for these ??? I know its probably an obvious question, but this is the only thing or needs to sort out now

Many thanks

Just to add Mortgage express have wrote to us and as they are now nationalised they are offering an incentive to 'ease their mortgage book' by waiving the early penalty from 1 Feb 09 - 30 june 09 (not long i know), but if we could get a very quick sale is it still worth us buying the BI or do we need it to be able to sell it.

Onwards and Upwards is the way im going :-0)

From "Moneyworries" to "Movin On" in 3 months is fantastic :-))

Jenny

You will need to contact your mortgage co and ask for a early settlement figure as you will need this to send down to the OR.

I dont know what you mean by selling it as i thought you wanted to stay, if you dont then is there any point in buying the BI.

To get a valuation i took info from Zoopla, went in rightmove and found 3 properties for sale similar to mine in my town from 3 different est agents, i also got hold of an estate agent and explained that i needed a valuation on a 3 month sale, which i got, these have all been sent down to my OR now so just wating to hear back.

Hey Jo

Sorry didnt make myself clear - its been a loong morning.

Basically OR has offered us to buy BI - which is what we have always wanted. However as hubbys job is not too certain at the mo, and we dont want to go into arrears with mortgage, therefore we would rather sell (even though we may only get what we owe as there is no equity). We would then have to rent somewhere smaller until things picked up.

Am i going on again ?? apologies if i am

Basicallly if hubby does not buy the bi are we still allowed to sell the house ? as i thought we would need to purchase that to sell.

OOhhhhhhhh im sorry for sounding confused.

Hi Jenny

I am not sure on the selling bit, maybe John or Paul will know or call the OR and see what they come up with.

I do see your point now though. Let us know what happens.

Hi again Jo

I have now spoke with OR who has informed me that we will need to buy the BI back first to be able to sell on the house as its basically not mine to sell (she did say it nice though).

So, she said i need to get a solicitor to deal with things on my side, however they use their solicitors called tft, i think she said ?

Im slightly concerned at this as im sure our solicitor would then bill us - so yes, im confused again.

Firstly i would like to say - THANK YOU JO -

WOW!! Only spoke to Mortgage Express regards redeption figure yesterday and we received it today . As thought we owe what we estimated.

Also spoke with Estate Agent who has values house at £165k for a quick sale - thats £5k less than only a few months ago - so they are going to put it all in writing to us.

So im almost ready for hubby to buy the bi - and after that dont know what happens as thats 'my only asset'

Im feeling very optimistic today
