Hi Kaybelle and welcome to the forum
Is it possible that you could post a few more details:
1 - Are you working 2 - Do you own your own home - if so is there any equity ? 3 - Do you own a car - is it on finance/hp and how much is it worth ? 4 - How much in total do your unsecured debts total ?
Once you have posted some more details about your situation you will get some great advice from the site

Hi Kaybelle,
I'm not trying to scare you with what I say next, but you need to be aware of a few things.
Have you moved back to the UK or are you still in Ireland? and, when you say Ireland, do you mean NI or Eire?
If you want to petition for BR in the UK, you will need to be resident here.
Whatever you do, don't go bankrupt in Ireland (Eire) as the rules are different and the consequences much more severe. The stigma of bankruptcy is also still a VERY big thing in Irelend.
As for getting benefits, you are from the EU and you have been living in the CTA (Common Travel Area) so you are entitled to jobseekers allowance, rent supplement, etc...
However, I would suggest that you would be in a better position if you were dealing with your debts in the UK. You really don't want your creditors to pass your debts onto an Irish Debt Collection Agency.
