hi,

i am cosidering bankruptcy as i have debts in the region of £30000 and have been out of work since november,i am(was) self employed in the construction industry,i am currently reciving jsa at the princely sum of £22 per week,i have a phone interview with the cccs on the 26th of this month which i think there will only be one outcome to go bankrupt,i keep getting promises of work in a couple of weeks but never happens,i am trying everyday to find work but to avail.I had enough money to cover mortgage, secured loan and utilties for december, girlfriends parents helping out for jan and feb,and in the meantime am selling everything possible to get some more money in,am currently trying to sell a project car that i have which will see us through another couple of months. My questions are,

1.If i go bankrupt will i lose my house,my partner and 2 children aged 2 and 9 months live with me and it is in joint names. We were going to remortgage in october before everthing went pear shaped,an independent valuer, valued it at £140000,we have since put it up for sale with a guide price of £135995.

Mortgage £106500 est

Loan £19000 est.

2.Regarding the fees for going bankrupt is ther any waiver if recieving benefits.

Please add any important info that i would also have to consider/missed.

Thank You for your time
