Can anyone tell me what proof of expenditure I will need for the OR? I don't have copies of all my bills etc and I don't remember all the details of purchases!

Help!!

Hi

don't worry yourself too much.
It's not always the case that the OR will request proof of expenditure. It largely depends on the size of your claim for any given expenditure weighed against the guidelines the OR has to work to taking into account the number of adults and the number of children in the household.

If your claims are in tune with the guidelines the OR has to work with then it is unlikely that you will need to evidence your claim but you will if they are deemed excessive.

Regarding purchases, you are unlikely to be asked to provide evidence of these either. If most of your debt was to support your general living expenses then just put that as the reason for the debt. Where you can recall specific items (not shopping etc) then list those too.

Hi

I know what you mean leahk. When my eldest left home we downsized double quick but she still ended up back home for a few months. Then it was mainly just mealtimes but always seemed to have a pressing engagement when it came to doing the washing up (couldn't afford a dishwasher).
