I am unable to work at the present time and my incomings each month consist entirely on Income Support, Child Benefit and Child tax credit. £1275. My outgoings leave approximately £150 out of which I pay for Christmas, birthdays, emergencies etc. Would I have a payment order given these figures?
Thanks

HI LEAH

The way i understand it any disposable income above £100 is subject to a ipa which can be between 50-70%.

have you included birthdays christmas on your soa which would bring your disposable income down. We have only just gone br so wont know if we are allowed birthdays christmas until next week.

I suspect not but its worth a try.

Hi

assuming for the moment that all of your expenditure claims are acceptable to the OR, and further assuming the income figure of £1275 includes your child benefit, you will not be subject to an IPA.

The SoA requires that you list ALL benefits.
However, a few benefits are not classed as income to the household for the purposes of calculating the possibility of an IPA, and CB is one of them.

I don't know how many children you have but just the 1 will mean your monthly CB is around £75. If you then deduct that from your posted DI figure of £150 this now reduces to £75 which is below the threshold of monthly disposable income required for an IPA to be proposed by the OR.
