hi all, another question please! my husband was never overdrawn until a couple of weeks ago when he paid off one of my credit cards at 1300 pounds as it was cheaper to pay the overdraft than interest on my card.although he was behind with his mortgage payments at this point we did intend to pay back whatever we could to his overdraft.however we have since had mortgage company on his back and he has decided to go bankrupt this week and court booked for april.as said in a previous post we are going to have to use more of the overdraft for bill and day to day living(he has arranged overdraft of 2000 pounds which hes had for ages).someone told me that he will get in trouble with the official receiver for paying my card off and its worried the life out of me as on the form where it states about when you first had trouble paying he put jan which is when he had missed his first or second mortgage payment.we were just trying to reduce monthly outgoings.
whats done is done, its not a massive amount so i would not have thought the OR would be too concerned, however do not do this with any other cards - if you havee your date for bankruptcy you should not be using your cards any more as you (your husband could be accused of using credit when they knew they had no intention of repaying the debt) with regard to overdraft this is usually utilised but make sure only for day to day expenses NOT for repaying any other debt. From March you should try to get by on your salaries/income rather than credit cards/overdraft

thanks melanie for the advice.he paid my credit card off by cheque from his current account.this will show as a chq number on his bank statement so what should he say to OR? we will have to take his court fee out too and pay a water bill with it.can i still use my bank card and credit cards tho as its not me going bankrupt and we dont have joint accounts? also someone mentioned that hubby could get a BO or a BU?
