Hello, I finally petitioned for my bankruptcy today and it seemed extremely straight forward. However, I am a bit concerned as I didn't need to see the judge (apparently in the court i attended this is the procedure now. All I did was hand in the petition and SAO form, swear the affidivit and pay the fee. I cannot remember if they said I would receive a phone call to confirm my bankruptcy at the end of today, or whether it would just go through the process and the next I will hear will be from the OR. I was told the OR would be contacting me within the next 72 hours. Has anyone else had a similar experience and should I just assume my bankruptcy petition has been accepted?
Thanks

Hi there, you have been declared bankrupt and now wait until the OR gets in touch. Glad everything went okay for you, Your experience yesterday with the proceedures in place with the court is duplicated up and down the country - the order has been made the OR will then be in touch, just wait until the OR contacts you. Don't worry feeling of an anti climax is quite common. Well done!

Thanks Melanie and Jan and to everyone who has given me advice over the past few months. I really don't know what I would've done without this site and everybody's help. Well, I guess I'm now bankrupt, although I really can't say I feel much different to be honest. I think I am still pschyed up as I haven't even spoken to the OR yet. Once that is all over and the IPA agreed, then I will finally be able to breathe a sigh of relief.
At least the first hurdle is over with. So far, so good.
