My limited company(one owner) is not able to pay taxes - about 20000 pounds. I would like to declare bakruptsy of the company but I do not know how to start it.
You cannot declare 'bankruptcy' for the company as this is for personal debt, You need to seek the services of an Insolvency Practitioner who deals with company matters to voluntarily place the company into liquidation. The debts of the company will be included in the liquidation, but you may be personally liable for any personal guarantees that you have given ie for bank borrowings, and may need to seek a personal solution such as bankruptcy aslo, The Insolvency Practitioner will provide you with full advice.
Hope this helps, if you need any further assistance or advice please come back to me

Dear Melanie I noticed that you have also insolvency experience. Can I hire you as the insolvency practitioner for this case? If not could you recommend me someone? I am not in UK and I do not have contacts there so it is difficult for me to find someone. Thank you.
YOu can contact me direct from the 'experts' link on the left hand side or ring the helpline and they will provide my telephone number and i can put you in touch with someone who can help
