Hi,
I am currently looking at filing for Bankruptcy. I have an ongoing Public Liability claim. Probably wirth no more than £1000 worse case against me. My insurers are curerntly dealing with it. I pay monthly for my cover.
How will I be effected i.e. will cover cease, does the claim go into the Bankruptcy pot, can the claimant come after me if that is the case?
Can I not keep my cover going?
This is not the reason for my Bankruptcy.

Hi sorry to hear about your difficulties.
with regard to continued cover you might want to check with coveritall an expert on the iva.co.uk site.
I understand that if your insurers are dealing with the claim then if succesful they would pay out. Your liability may be limited to the excess and if the case was settled prior to you going Br then this would be a debt and included in Br.

So really I need to wait to petition until the claim is closed, which will hopefully be by the end of April.
I currently pay my premiums monthly, anybody know what the effect may be on that i.e. you have not paid the full premium for the year so we will not settle the claim if I go BR now?

hi introuble
you have a lot going on with trading through Br, possible bro, franchise problems, public liability problems, fresh start, preparing for Br etc et etc
really suggest you sit down with an expert who understands business, franchising, insolvency and if necessary br process.
