should i tell the bank im going bankrupt , i have a barclays current account and a barclays cash card account i owe the bank nothing , but should i go in and tell them im going bankrupt (court date 24/3/09) and will they let be just keep my cash card account ?

As far as i know it is up to the bank if they let you keep the account open even if you have no debt with them.

I assume you mean that your Court case is 24/04/09 and therefore you are not bankrupt yet.

I would suggest that you tell the bank before your bankruptcy date as Barclays will, undoubtedly, freeze your accounts when the OR writes to them. This makes life slightly easier as if Barclays are Ok with you holding a basic bank account as a bankrupt, then you can be assured the account will not be frozen. If the bank insists on closing your accounts, you still have time to open a bank account with another bank. I suggest The Co-op. However as Chester2005 points out, it is entirely up to the bank.
