Hi all, I got a quick question...

I'd like to know what to do about registering with HMRC as self-employed...

How will this look in light of the fact that I'm about to go BR? And how would it alter any potential investigation? I'm not out of the 3 month deadline just yet, and it's hardly a fortune - it's nothing more than a few CD sales (not even enough to declare to the DWP as it's not even £20 a week!) and the occassional gig...

Thanks

Going bankrupt does not hinder you in continuing or commencing self employment. Have a look on the HMRC website as to how you go about self assessment.

Thanks Melanie. As it is, the income will be negligable and, from the looks of it, sporadic at best. With that in mind, what should I put on the SOA form, as my main form of income will be from benefits? Do I say I'm self-employed, but with zero income?
