I'm hoping to go bankrupt on 18 may (if Iva company send failure letter or certificate on time)have recently opened a coop cashminder account, waiting for all details. When I get them when am I best changing wages and direct debits to this account (I get paid on last working day of each month) and also will I have to put this bank account on bankruptcy forms.

Officially as it is a bank account you are meant to list it on your forms and the OR will not have an interest in it (Normally)
If you change the DDs and wages payments beforehand it is generally safer and easier than trying to get money out of a frozen account

I was advised not to list the co-op account on your form as it is not a debt, its a new account for your pay to go into. I am getting paid into my natwest the day b4 going BR paying bills and then take money needed for rest of the month. After you have been made bankrupt you can advise to OR that you have opened a co-op account

I listed the Co-op account as the form asks for all bank details. That was 4 months ago. The OR checked a couple of statements but wasn't interested as it was in credit. And the Co-op obviously weren't concerned as the account is still open :)

I too declared my Co-op account on the forms but it is definitely a grey area. Even the experts offer differing views on it. However all posts I have read on the subject suggest that the OR has been fine whether it's on the form or not as long as you tell them about it. Hallway, I allowed a month to get my new Co-op account up and running before court. It takes a while for the direct debits to be set up. Paulsc, I went to some trouble changing dates of direct debits around so they didn't fall near my court date but if you have a Co-Op account they never seem to freeze it so the problem doesn't arise.

Haven't got the sort code and account number yet, but was thinking of getting aprils pay paid into if possible, but got dd's comming out at all different dates,so might try when I change accounts to move them all to begining of the month.probably will list it and just hope they don't freeze it,don't want to get in trouble.

Hello! Just wanted to say that im in a similar situation to you. I have this morning recieved my account number from co-op and im jsut waiting for my card and pin number then im going to start paying in some of the money that i drew out of my natwest account. I am then going to start setting up all my dd's and payments to go into it. Then i need to start filling out the forms online. I have my court fees at the ready, so realy its just a case of the forms! :)

As far as i can see i think its the first 6 digits of the account number at the top of the letter thats the sort code. I am going to give them a call after easter to find out for def as i want to reset up my sky dd next week.
My IVA is with DFD. It will fail around the 21st i think. I should get default notice two weeks after that so they say. I am filing for my own BR as i have no idea if they will do it for me and i already have the fees ready!
I called my local court and I can just go in there on the day i wish to BR and i dont have to make an appointment

I have been told by my iva co that it could take upto 8 weeks after iva fails to get failure cert, they said they can send me a letter so hope thats enough.I had to make an appointment at my local court and there is a 6-8 week waiting list, and as appointments are getting used up at a rate of 3-4 a day thought I'd beta get in quick and book an appointment and take a chance. My iva company has kept money to file for bankruptcy, but are saying they'd have to call a creditors meeting and let them decide,so rather than let it drag on for ages doing it myself.
