Forgot to remove my wife name from our joined account before BR in Feb.

We want to the bank today and removed her name I had to sign a form to say I take reposnablaty for the account and the overdraft.

Is this allowed once BR. The account did not close after BR and each month the bank are change £80

Hi peter 62
Welcome to the forum .
I don't think this is allowed as you should have informed the OR of the Debt,
If you have ajoint account then your wife would have to pay the Debt
Did you inform the bank that you were made BR in Feb
as they should have known better.
I am sure an Expert will come along soon.

All the Best

hi

you can't exclude the joint debt from bankruptcy as this would prefer that creditor.

I suggest you speak to the OR in the morning and ask them what they are happy for you to do
